The AERO-HDF campaign to study aerosols in the Hauts-de-France region
In July 2023, LISA took part in the AERO-HDF airborne campaign aboard the French UAR SAFIRE ATR aircraft.
The project, coordinated by the Laboratoire d'Optique Atmosphérique (LOA) in Lille, focuses on the study of the links between optical properties restored by remote sensing and the physico-chemical properties of aerosols, the study of the effect of the marine environment on the mixing state and properties of pollution aerosols over Dunkirk, the English Channel and the North Sea, and the identification of the sources of these particles, in preparation for the 3MI space mission.
LISA has deployed the AVIRAD multi-instrumented airborne platform for in situ measurements (optical and microphysical) and sampling, enabling subsequent analysis of the physico-chemical properties of the particles observed.
